Is a Bed frame needed? If so, what type?

Solo Mattress Canada recommends putting your mattress on a stable, rigid base to supply the proper support for the mattress. It can be used on a box spring, slatted bed frame with slats no more than 4 inches apart.

How do the mattress models differ?

Solo Pocket Coil is a high quality double-sided pocket spring mattress. Solo Memory Foam is high quality mattress with two different sides of hardness. The medium side with memory foam (medium) and the harder side of polyurethane foam (medium-firm).

How can I clean my Solo Mattress?

Cleaning is easy, all you need to do is wipe it with a damp cloth.

Does my Solo Mattress require special sized sheets?

No, just standard size twin, double, queen, or king depending on your mattress size.

Do I need a mattress cover/protector?

It isn’t necessary to use a mattress cover with the mattress but if you are worried about pets, spills, etc., it can be beneficial to use one for protection.

Is there a break-in period?

It may take a few days or weeks to adjust to your Solo Mattress as it will be different from the mattress you are currently sleeping on.

Do I need to flip my Solo Mattress?

No unless you want to. With the Solo Memory Foam Mattress select the side the meets your firmness requirements.

How long can I keep my Solo Mattress in the box?

We suggest not leaving the mattress in the box for more than 1 year. After that time the fibres may degrade impacting the firmness of the mattress.

How do I unpack my Solo Mattress?

Your new Solo Bed will arrive as a compressed vacuum sealed roll that's protected in a shipping box - wrapped in plastic! All of our Solo Mattresses are compressed and vacuum sealed for shipping convenience and protection during shipping. They will inflate quickly to their original shape and will be unaffected by the compression process. Please allow 24-48 hours for your new Solo Mattress to re-inflate to full size.

  • Open box
  • Take rolled Solo Mattress out of box and place on top of the intended foundation.
  • Cut the plastic surrounding Solo Mattress. Be careful not to cut the mattress.
  • Solo Mattress will start to unroll.
  • Let Solo Mattress expand.

Once my Solo Mattress is out of the box, how long does it take to re-inflate?

This process only takes a few minutes, but may take 24-48 to be completely inflated.

Is the mattress certified?

Yes, they are certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class II Certificate.
